Peacehaven Cycle Hub

Logo Design

Peacehaven Cycle Hub located at the Centenary Park is a free community resource for anyone or group interested in cycling, walking or active travel and health. The hub is managed by Sustrans with support from Lewes District Council.

The brief was to create a logo for the hub which could be used on signage at the site, on future promotional materials and on way finding markers in and around the South Downs National Park. It was important for the logo to be clear and work well in a single colour.

The resulting logo is made up from two rotated ‘P’s, styled to form the chainring and cranks of a bike. There is a sense of movement, but also the mechanics of the bike. This conveys the message that the hub is there to help support you maintain and use your bike. This logo mark has also been paired with Gill Sans Nova to link it with the South Down National Park typography.
